Guidance for growing freelance businesses
Tax advice that starts with your business.
Your figures explain what has happened. You also want to understand your options and what to prepare for. I help you work through financial and Dutch tax questions so that your next step is better informed.
What is actually available to spend?
A positive bank balance does not mean the whole amount is available for personal spending. Taxes, suppliers and other obligations may still need to be paid. I help you understand how profit, cash flow and reserves fit together.
We discuss what information is needed for a useful picture and where uncertainty remains. The result is not an isolated number, but an explanation you can use.
Weighing an investment or a new direction
An equipment purchase, an expansion of your work or a change in how your business is organised can have financial and tax consequences. We identify the relevant questions before you decide.
The discussion is not limited to possible tax advantages. It also covers affordability, commitments and the impact on your personal finances. Spending should support your plans; reducing tax is not an objective on its own.
Advice connected to your records
Advice is more useful when the underlying bookkeeping is in order. Guidance therefore connects with your records, tax returns and annual figures. If the figures need attention first, we discuss the review or additional information required.
- Understandable explanations of profit and financial position.
- Insight into tax reserves and the relationship between business and personal finances.
- Discussion of investment plans and business growth.
- Preparation for upcoming work and important points of attention.
- Reviewing a provisional tax assessment when circumstances change.
One-off advice or ongoing contact
Sometimes one conversation is enough. At other times, regular discussions of your figures and plans are more useful. We agree on the questions to cover, the preparation needed and the fee.
Based in Heemstede, I support self-employed business owners in Haarlem and the surrounding area, as well as remotely. You receive personal contact and explanations relevant to your business. Any issue outside the agreed expertise or scope is discussed before proceeding.
Frequently asked questions
Do you need to handle all my bookkeeping?
No. Advice can complement existing records or another provider’s work. We do need reliable and sufficiently current figures to discuss your question carefully.
Can I ask for help with one specific question?
Yes. Briefly explain the issue. We can then establish the information required and whether a single conversation or further analysis would be appropriate.
Can we arrange regular discussions?
Yes. The frequency depends on your business and needs, for example around periodic figures or important decisions.
Will I know the fee in advance?
Yes. We agree on scope and fees beforehand. If further investigation is needed, that is discussed before extending the engagement.
A question about your figures or next step?
Tell me what you would like to discuss. We can establish which information and guidance will help you move forward.
