VAT, annual figures and income tax

Dutch tax returns. With attention to the figures behind them.

You want your tax returns to be prepared carefully and to reconcile with your records. I handle the agreed filing work, discuss anything unclear and explain what the outcome means for you.

Help with Dutch VAT returns

A VAT return starts with the bookkeeping. I assess how the records reconcile with the return, review the categories used and discuss unusual differences.

Where necessary, I request supporting information or agree on corrections. The return is then prepared and submitted as arranged. Complete and timely information matters; mention an approaching deadline when you first get in touch.

Annual figures as the basis for your business income

An annual overview should be more than an export from your accounting software. I prepare your annual figures and review support for balance sheet items, the reconciliation of income and expenses and matters relevant to the tax treatment.

You receive explanations of your result and financial position. That helps with your income tax return and with understanding the reserves and questions your business needs to consider.

Dutch income tax returns for freelancers

Your Dutch income tax return brings together your business figures and relevant personal information. I check the connection with your annual figures and assess which tax provisions apply to your circumstances.

The outcome is explained. Where useful, we also discuss your tax reserve and whether a provisional assessment should be adjusted. The aim is a carefully supported return, not a promise of a fixed tax saving.

Preparing the information needed

After our first conversation, you receive a list tailored to your situation. It may include:

  • The bookkeeping for the relevant period and any previous annual figures.
  • Relevant submitted returns and tax correspondence.
  • Questions, unusual transactions and a list of missing documents.
  • Additional personal information needed for the agreed return.

Do not submit documents or login details through the public contact form. We agree separately on secure document sharing and any access required.

A clearly defined service

Whether you need a one-off return, annual work or recurring support, we agree in advance on what I will handle, what you will provide and the fee. Advice about investments or growth can be included separately.

Based in Heemstede, I work with growing freelance businesses in Haarlem and the surrounding area, as well as remotely. An initial conversation is followed by the necessary client acceptance process and clear arrangements. Where cross-border issues arise, we first establish whether they fall within the proposed engagement.

Frequently asked questions

Can you prepare just my Dutch income tax return?

We can discuss this. Your business figures and supporting information need to be sufficiently clear. Any additional preparation or review work is agreed with you first.

Can you use my existing bookkeeping?

Yes. We start with the information already available. Where there are differences or missing documents, we discuss what is needed before the return can be completed.

Can you help with a provisional assessment?

Yes. We can review your expected profit and personal situation and discuss whether requesting or adjusting an assessment makes sense. This forms part of the agreed scope.

What if my filing deadline is approaching?

Mention the deadline in your first message. Whether the work can be completed in time depends on the available information, the work required and the schedule.

Need help with Dutch VAT or income tax?

Tell me which return or period you would like to discuss and whether a deadline is approaching. We can then establish the support you need.
